Week 3 of Cutlure Club was all about Colour. Participants were invited to doodle and paint with bright colours to improve moods. Did you know that bright colours can help significantly improve mood by boosting energy, increasing motivation, and fostering feelings of joy and happiness? These vibrant hues stimulate the mind and can counteract low energy or feelings of sadness. Using them in environments or clothing can create a positive, stimulating atmosphere.
We also discussed about how Colour and Culture are deeply interconnected, with meanings for different colours varying significantly across Western, Eastern, and other societies based on tradition, religion, and history. While some, like red, may evoke universal emotions such as passion, they can represent danger in one culture and good fortune or prosperity in another.
Join us tomorrow night for Week 4 of Culture Club where participants are invited to share myths, legends, superstitions and folklore from their cultural backgrounds and create their own mythical characters and write their own stories.
Culture Club runs from 6-8pm at Dunfanaghy FRC every Tuesday. All adults welcome. Culture Club is free but booking is essential. Call/WhatsApp Eve on 0860683715.
