HAD A MAN IN THIS MORNING…

HAD A MAN IN THIS MORNING…

We had a man in this morning who needed a small printing job done. We got him hooked into the wifi and he printed off his pages without any bother. He was heading to Belfast on the bus with the vital documents for an important meeting.

He asked – “How long have you been here? I never knew you were here.”

Well nearly 20 years we’re here now;  he then asked, “And what all do you do here?”

Mothers and babies were just landing in for the Mother & Wee Baby  Breastfeeding Support Group.

Well, we do quite a few things here.

As we spoke the Citizens Information drop in clinic was open upstairs – 2 hours worth of expert advice and support which happens once a month, courtesy of the Milford Citizens Information Service outreach programme.

Yesterday the centre was abuzz with Gardeners Group in planning mode – the Wellness Café was happening up in the workhouse and the Buggy Buddies walking group were down at Ards Friary enjoying the beginning of the heatwave in the great outdoors.

We had another chap in last week with mobile outdoor wifi units printing labels to post them down the county for a Departmental event – said he was able to extend his holiday here in Donegal thanks to the resource centre facilities.

And this is the quiet time of the year.

With an autumn schedule shaping up to be full of new and exciting activities – including Pilates, Orienteering Class, Baby Massage, Tiny Tunes, Youth Club, Learning Support, Parenting Programmes, Ukrainian Support, Art Class, Book Club, Library, Derryveagh Carer’s Support Group, Play Therapy, etc, there’s plenty going on in the Dunfanaghy Family Resource Centre – and it’s all there for you, the local community.

So, handed yer man a resource centre leaflet full of all the activities, and told him he could read it on the way to Belfast.

Come in, pick up the leaflet or the monthly newsletter – keep abreast of what’s happening, or check in on the website www.dunfanaghyfrc.ie, or check out our Facebook page.

There’s plenty going on…And you can get your printing done too!
